Cuyahoga Emergencies & Disasters Fair 10/11/2014
10:00 AM - 1:00 PM - Families are invited to this Emergency Preparedness Safety Fair, sponsored by the Cuyahoga County Office of Emergency Management and Cleveland Metroparks Rangers. Safety forces and other emergency management agencies will show how to stay safe during severe weather, floods, fires and other incidents. Learn how to make a family emergency kit and use a fire extinguisher; also hear about water rescue and how to read cloud formations. Meet a police dog and see police and fire vehicles up close. The fair is at the Cleveland Metroparks West Creek Reservation, 2277 West Ridgewood Drive in Parma.

Halloween Hullabaloo 10/24/2014
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM - Everyone is invited to celebrate the season at the Indoor Halloween Hullabaloo at the Ehrnfelt Event Center, 18100 Royalton Rd. The family-friendly Halloween party features candy, inflatables, games, cookie decorating, dancing, crafts and delicious Halloween treats. Sponsored by the Strongsville Recreation Department. Tickets go on sale Sept. 2 at the Ehrnfelt Recreation Center front desk. Cost is $8 for ages 3 and up; $5 for kids 1-2; free for under 1. Pre-sale only; tickets won't be sold at the door.

TRICK OR TREAT IN THE VILLAGE 10/25/2014
3:00 PM - 4:30 PM - Strongsville Historical Society is having the 5th annual Old Fashioned Trick or Treat in the Strongsville Historic Village for ages preschool through kindergarten. Admission to this event is one non-perishable food item or $1 per person donated to the Strongsville Emergency Food Bank. Children must be accompanied by adults. Strongsville Historic Village consists of eight historic buildings on two acres at the corner of Pearl Road and Zverina Drive just two block North of Royalton Road (Rte. 82). The “Villagers” will be in costumes appropriate for the “wee” ones. They will be handing out treats (some candy-some prizes) to the costumed guests. There will be games and refreshments. This is an opportunity for the younger children to have a safe Halloween in the daytime. Reservations are a MUST by October 20, 2014. Please call 440-572-0535 for reservations and questions.

Literary Nonfiction Writers' Workshop 10/27/2014
