Cloud Computing at the Library 9/2/2015
1:00 PM - 3:00 PM - This class will define cloud computing and discuss the advantages and drawbacks. Participants will try both Microsoft Sky Drive and Google Drive for word processing, spreadsheets and presentations. 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony 9/11/2015
9:45 AM - 9:45 AM - The Strongsville Fire and Police departments will conduct a remembrance ceremony recalling the murder of 2,974 people, including 343 firefighters and 73 police officers, by terrorists on Sept. 11, 2001. The ceremony starts at 9:45 a.m. outside Fire Station No. 4 on Prospect Road, but firefighters will also participate outside the other three stations through a radio transmission. The ceremony includes the "Tolling of the Bells" and Taps. The community is invited to attend.

SPECIAL PREVIEW for Friends members only from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19. Open to the public 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, 1-4 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday. On Sunday and Monday, it's the Bag of Books Sale. Bring a recycled bag no larger than 15-by-15 inches to fill with books for only $1. Wibit Weekend and Talk Like a Pirate Day 9/19/2015
1:00 PM - 5:00 PM - Head over to the Ehrnfelt Recreation Center for a Wild Wet Weekend on the inflatable Wibit obstacle course. The inflatable will be in the pool Saturday, Sept. 19 from 1-5 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 20, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Daily wristbands are $8 (non-members must also pay a daily guest fee). On Saturday, which is National Talk Like a Pirate Day, if you get caught talking or dressing like a pirate, you can win prizes. There will be games at the top of every hour, and light refreshments will be served. Non-member guest fees apply.

Breakfast on the Covered Bridge 9/20/2015
7:30 AM - 12:30 PM - The Strongsville City Club will host the 30th annual Breakfast on the Covered Bridge from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 20 on the Ehrnfelt Covered Bridge on Whitney Road at Valley Parkway. Enjoy scrambled eggs, ham, bacon, sausage, hash browns, pastries, milk, orange juice and coffee. Advance tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for kids 10 and under, and are available at the Ehrnfelt Recreation Center or through the City Club. You can also buy tickets at the door for $8 for adults and $5 for kids. There's no parking in the Metroparks, but there's a quick and free shuttle from the RTA Park-N-Ride lot on Pearl Road. Day at the Chalet 9/20/2015
12:00 PM - 5:00 PM - Arts in Strongsville presents A Day at the Chalet, a free festival of the arts, from noon to 5 p.m. at Cleveland Metroparks Chalet on Valley Parkway. There will be activities and entertainment for all ages and interests. Kids can make pottery, decorate bakery, paint on canvas, try sand art, string beads, make suncatchers, paint on wood, make a dinosaur, decorate a messenger bag and more. Entertainment includes the Strongsville City Jazz Swing Band, jump rope team, Motor City Gold, dance troupe and more. Park at the RTA Park- and-Ride lot on Pearl Road and take the free shuttle to the event.

11:00 AM - 5:00 PM - Everyone is invited to the Harvest Festival at the Historical Village, 13305 Pearl Rd. (just north of Route 82), which runs 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 26 and 27. Free admission and free parking. Events and activities include the famous Cow Pie Lottery, a quilt raffle, classic car display, farmers' market, hands-on crafts for kids, model railroad display, music, entertainment, a food tent, art show and sale, Civil War exhibition, hand crafts and Strongsville items for sale. The eight historic buildings on the grounds will be open. On Saturday, there will be a pig roast in the village at 2 p.m. On Sunday, an old-fashioned chicken dinner takes place at the United Methodist Church from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tickets for the dinner are available at the village, or call (440) 572-0057 or (440) 846-9705.
