Young at Heart Book Club at the Library 1/6/2015
7:00 PM - 8:00 PM - This club for adults who love children's and teen books meets the first Tuesday evening of every month. Register in person to pick up a copy of the book. January's discussion is on "Bomb: The Race to Build and Steal the World's Most Dangerous Weapon."

Open House at the Rec Center 1/10/2015
1:00 PM - 3:00 PM - Everyone is invited to the Ehrnfelt Recreation and Senior Center from 1-3 p.m. for an open house filled with prizes and activities. Look around the building, sample a variety of fresh-made foods from the kitchen and enter to win dozens of great prizes -- including a free one-year family membership! There will also be exercise demonstrations, blood pressure screenings and tours of the woodworking shop. The Rec Center is at 18100 Royalton Rd., behind Target. 'From the Page to the Stage' for Kids at Library 1/10/2015
2:30 PM - 3:30 PM - Children in kindergarten through grade 3 will learn how music, words, pictures and movement can work together to tell a story. Students will actively engage with the narrative. Registration starts Dec. 19 at (440) 238-5530 or cuyahogalibrary.org.

Weird Science: Density Parfait 1/12/2015

Winter Cookout at the Senior Center 1/15/2015
11:30 AM - 1:00 PM - The Ehrnfelt Senior Center will shovel away the snow and fire up the grill to cook burgers and dogs at this indoor picnic. It'll be a perfect 72 degrees, without a bee or ant in sight! Register by Jan. 12. Cost is $5 for members and $7 for non-members/non-residents. Sunscreen optional!

Bounce at the Rec Center 1/15/2015
5:30 PM - 8:30 PM - Kids 11 and under are invited to hop on over to the Ehrnfelt Recreation Center to have some bouncy fun. The Rec Center will have two inflatables from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Cost is $2 per child. Children must be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian who remains in the inflatable area.


Stick to Your New Year's Resolutions: Good Morning, Strongsville Speaker Series 1/21/2015

Soup Supper 1/27/2015
6:00 PM - 7:45 PM - The Strongsville Historical Society invites you to a SOUP SUPPER on January 27, 2015 at the Ernfelt Event Center, 18100 Royalton Rd., in the Ehrnfelt Recreation and Senior Center. This event brings together Strongsville area folks for an evening of good company while warming their tummies with soup accompanied by bread and rolls, beverages and desserts. This event has outgrown the Lathrop House in the Historic Village where it was previously held. Supper begins at 6 p.m. There is plenty of free parking. The cost is $10 per person. Call the Village at 440-572-0057 to make an appointment with the store proprietors to buy pottery, aprons, sweatshirts, afghans, vintage Deganhart glass, Strongsville family history books, etc. The latest book is a compilation of letters written to Strongsville’s Asa and Charlotte Drake between 1821 and 1857. The letters along with reference maps and articles highlighting various places and events present a look into the life of our pioneer ancestors.

Wine, Music & Cabaret 1/31/2015
7:30 PM - 12:00 AM - Arts in Strongsville presents its sixth annual evening of Wine, Music & Cabaret at the Ehrnfelt Event Center, 18100 Royalton Rd. The event features food stations by area restaurants, a live show and dancing, raffle and 50/50 drawing, and, during the first hour, a free martini bar by Shinto and wine tasting.
