Safety Town Registration 5/4/2016
5:00 PM - 7:30 PM - Registration will be taken from 5 - 7:30 p.m. at the Ehrnfelt Recreation Center for 2016 Safety Town, which is open to children who will start kindergarten this fall. Sign-ups must be made in person by the child's parent or legal guardian. If you cannot make either time, call Marie at (440) 580-3257 to see if a space is available.

Chamber Business after Hours 5/4/2016

Chamber to Award Scholarships, Honor Students Joining Military 5/11/2016
11:30 AM - 1:00 PM - The Strongsville Chamber of Commerce will award scholarships to Strongsville students and will also acknowledge the Strongsville students that will be entering the military upon graduation, at its May Monthly Business Luncheon. The luncheon is scheduled for Wednesday, May 11, 11:30 a.m., at the Ehrnfelt Recreation Center.

The scholarships are funded by the proceeds from the annual Holiday Dance held each December and sponsored by the Chamber. This year marks the 49th consecutive year that the Chamber has awarded scholarships to deserving seniors. The Chamber donates more scholarships, with a higher dollar value, than any other local organization in Strongsville.

Reservations for the luncheon may be made by calling 440.238.3366, emailing to info@strongsvillechamber.com ,or by going to the Chamber website before May 6. Cost is $20 per person, payable at the door, in advance by calling the office, or through the website registration. Please remember, you must cancel your reservation 24 hours in advance or you will be responsible for the fee.


Toy Mania at the Library 5/11/2016
7:00 PM - 8:30 PM - Join the Strongsville Library for a fun-filled look at toys from the past. Steve Presser, owner of Big Fun toy stores in Cleveland and Columbus, will discuss the history of toys and the fads, styles and changes of toys, and will bring some old toys for reminiscing. Mother/Son Night of Fun 5/13/2016
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM - The Ehrnfelt Rec Center will host the Mother/Son Night of Fun for moms and their favorite little guys 4 and older from 6:38 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, May 13. The evening will include food, games, dancing and music. Tickets go on sale April 1 and must be purchased in advance at the Rec Center front desk -- none will be sold at the door. Donate to Habitat 5/14/2016
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM - Habitat for Humanity is seeking donations of construction materials from 9 a.m. to noon May 14 at the Strongsville Service Center, 16099 Foltz Pkwy. Acceptable items include sinks, vanities, kitchen counters, doors, plumbing and electrical supplies, furniture, refrigerators, washers/dryers, microwaves, freezers, air conditioners, countertops, lumber, tools, and garden tools and supplies. (No paint, bedding or clothing). Larger items may be picked up by calling (216) 429-3631.

Strongsville Community Band Spring Concert 5/15/2016
3:00 PM - 4:00 PM - The Strongsville Community Band will perform a spring concert at 3 p.m. at the Ehrnfelt Recreation Center. The show is free and open to everyone.

Parkfit Mall Walkers Wellness Talk 5/17/2016
10:00 AM - 11:00 AM - Join the Strongsville Library the third Tuesday of each month for a wellness talk sponsored by Southwest General. Topic this month is 'Healthy Lifestyle.' The ParkFit Mall Walkers Club is a walking club at the mall. Members are invited to get in their workout, then head to the library for the informative wellness talk.

Art and Chalk Walk 5/21/2016
9:00 AM - 2:00 PM - Arts in Strongsville will present the sixth annual Art and Chalk Walk starting at 9 a.m. May 21. Youngsters are invited to draw a picture on the sidewalk at the Commons, with cash prizes awarded to winners in each age category. It's free and chalk is provided. The Past and Present on the Lane Quilt Show 5/22/2016
1:00 PM - 4:00 PM - Historical Society Strongsville invites you to THE PAST AND PRESENT ON THE LANE QUILT SHOW in the famous Strongsville Historic Village on Sunday, May 22, 2016 from 1pm. to 4pm. In conjunction with the Strongsville City Bicentennial, the quilt show will be dressing up all eight historic buildings which depict Strongsville from 1816 to the present. The Village is located at 13305 Pearl Road just mile North of Rte. 82 (Royalton Rd.). There is no admission fee but donations are always welcome.
