Veterans Career Expo 11/3/2014
10:00 AM - 1:00 PM - All veterans, active duty, reservists and National Guard welcome at the Veterans Career Expo at Quicken Loans Arena. Employers, colleges, vocational institutions and veterans' service organizations will be on site. Presented by Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. Literary Nonfiction Writers' Workshop 11/3/2014
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM - This hands-on workshop at the Strongsville Library will explore effective writing techniques for personal essay, memoir, flash nonfiction and more. It meets Mondays from Nov. 3 through Dec. 1, and participants should commit to attending at least five of the six sessions. The class includes short assignments and feedback on every writer's work. Veterans Day Lunch 11/5/2014
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM - Veterans are invited to be recognized at a special lunch at the Ehrnfelt Event Center. Veterans who are Strongsville residents or members of the Ehrnfelt Senior Center are treated to a free lunch, but must register by Oct. 31 by calling (440) 580-3275. Cost for other residents or senior center members is $5; for non-residents or non-members, it's $6. Paying guests must register by Nov. 3. The event is sponsored by Jardine Funeral Home.

Strongsville Chamber of Commerce Luncheon 11/18/2014
11:30 AM - 1:30 PM - The Strongsville Chamber of Commerce monthly Business Luncheon will take place at the Holiday Inn on Royalton Road. Speaker is Kathy Fischer, a Business Consultant with over 30 years experience at Northeast Ohio BWC. Kathy partners with Cleveland-area Governorís Economic Development representative, local chambers of commerce and business associations to resolve issues affecting business expansion or retention. She has extensive knowledge of the BWC services and programs available to employers. Her duties include working with employers in northeast Ohio to implement proven risk-management strategies through various cost-control programs. Kathy's 30 years of experience at BWC include: premium audit, claims management and a focus on risk-management for the last 16 years.

Winter Wonderland Lighting Celebration 11/23/2014
5:30 PM - 8:00 PM - Join Mayor Perciak in kicking off the holiday season in Strongsville at the annual Winter Wonderland Lighting Celebration on the City Commons. Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive in town on a sleigh to visit with children in the gazebo. The free event includes a fireworks display, snacks and fun for all ages.

Historical Village Open During Lighting Celebration 11/23/2014
5:30 PM - 8:00 PM - Strongsville Historical Society will be participating in the Winter Wonderland Lighting Celebration. The buildings in the Historical Village will be open from 5:30 to 8 p.m., decorated for their period in history. The Winter Wonderland Express Train will provide a scenic ride to the village and back to the Commons. All riders will have to exit the train when arriving at the village. You can find refreshments in the Velda and Howard Chapman House. Please take advantage of this special time to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season.
