Service Department

The Strongsville Service Department is responsible for maintaining all public infrastructure, including road repair and resurfacing, snow removal and keeping roadways clear of debris. The department also maintains traffic control devices, storm sewers, sanitary sewers and city parks.

The Service Department oversees the Strongsville Cemetery, maintaining the grounds, selling lots and readying the plots for burial. The department also keeps computer records of lot ownership and burial information. For information on buying a lot, call (440) 580-3186.
Every fall, the department removes leaves from residents’ tree lawns through the citywide leaf collection program. For the pickup schedule, see the Keeping Strongsville Green publication or visit the Leaf Removal page.
Collection of rubbish and recyclables is done by Republic Waste. Any questions should be directed to Republic at (440) 572-7590. See the Waste Collection page for additional information.
Help with sewer and drainage problems is available by calling the Service Department at (440) 580-3170.

An Animal Control Officer is on staff to aid the public with animal problems, including lost or found pet reports, nuisance complaints and general questions. To contact the Animal Control Officer, call (440) 580-3180. In cases of emergency, residents may call the Police Department at (440) 238-7373. Visit the Animal Control section for more information.
