Are You Ready for a Disaster? Here's How to Prepare

We're not in the path of hurricanes here in northeast Ohio, but would you be ready if another type of disaster -- a tornado, terrorist attack, health emergency -- struck?

September is National Preparedness month, and Cuyahoga County officials want to help you plan for the worst.

On Sept. 23, 2017, the Cuyahoga County Office of Emergency Management will host an event from 12-3 p.m. at CanalWay Center to help people prepare for all types of emergencies. There will be presentations and displays.

The Office of Emergency Management has also put out a booklet on preparing your household for an emergency. You can read it here.

There is also a Family Communications Plan that could help you contact loved ones during a crisis.

And a guide for dealing with thunderstorms and lightning.
