Coyotes Sightings are on the Rise

It's mating season for coyotes, and Animal Control Officer Chuck McCleary has been getting calls from residents about coyote sightings in their yards.
If you see a coyote, you can make loud noises and scare it off. Do not leave your pets out unattended or for long periods of times. If you have outdoor cats (and you shouldn't, McCleary says) bring them in. Break up the times you let your pets out because coyotes can  actually schedule your animal’s activities if they are routine.
Here is some factual information put out by the Ohio Division of Wildlife about coyotes and their behavior. You can also visit wildlife.ohiodnr.gov for more information.
