New Playground Opens at Surrarrer Park

A brand new playground has opened at Surrarrer Park with slides, swings, climbing apparatus and even adaptive equipment for kids in wheelchairs.
It also includes a 'friendship swing' in which a parent and toddler can swing facing each other.
Parks and Recreation Director Bryan Bogre said the park, located at Webster and Whitney roads, was due for new equipment and sprucing up.
It opened July 21 -- a few days ahead of schedule -- after volunteers from the Rotary Club of Strongsville helped finish spreading 300 yards of mulch around the apparatus.
Bogre hopes to now install a 'storybook trail' through the woods, where families will come upon pages of a story as they walk the trail. The city has also applied for a grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources that would pay for additional play equipment for the park.
"We're trying to make it a great playground for everyone," Bogre said.
