Pull Up a Lawn Chair for Strongsville Community Band Concerts

There’s a new venue for Strongsville Community Band concerts this summer — the lawn at Strongsville Middle School, 13200 Pearl Road.
The band will perform five free concerts there on Friday nights, plus others at the Ehrnfelt Rec Center.
All the shows are set for Fridays at 7:30 p.m.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket and relax with great music on June 14, June 28, July 5, July 12 and August 9. If it rains, the shows will move to the Rec Center.
The band will also play an indoor Friday night concert August 2 at the Rec  Center. In addition, the Strongsville City Jazz Swing Band will play at the Rec Center on Friday, July 26.
Here is a rundown of the Summer Series:
Friday, June 14 at 7:30 PM at the Strongsville Middle School Lawn. This concert titled “Traveling The U.S.A” will feature music such Sousa’s March of The States and Selections from Oklahoma. (In case of rain the concert will be held at the Ehrnfelt Senior/Recreation Center).
 
Friday, June 28 at 7:30 PM at the Strongsville Middle School Lawn. This concert will include music from Super Hero movies as Superman, The Avengers and Captain America. Audiences are invited to wear their favorite Super Hero attire. (In case of rain the concert will be held at the Ehrnfelt Senior/Recreation Center).
 
Friday, July 5 at 7:30 PM at the Strongsville Middle School Lawn. Patriotic Music will fill the air with selections such as God Bless America and Sousa marches. Guest director will be Brenden Caldwell, B-W University Band Director. (In case of rain the concert will be held at the Ehrnfelt Senior/ Recreation Center).
 
Friday, July 12 at 7:30 PM at the Strongsville Middle School Lawn. Special guest will be Mary Poppins and her friends from England. Trumpet Soloist, Jack Brndiar of Baldwin Wallace University will be guest artist.  (In case of rain the concert will be held at the Ehrnfelt Senior/Recreation Center).
 
Friday, July 26 at 7:30 PM at the Ehrnfelt Senior/Recreation Center. The Strongsville City Jazz Swing Band will perform music from the American Song Book with vocalists Kim Wasielewski and Ron “The Jazz Man” Davis.
 
Friday, August 2 at 7:30 PM at the Ehrnfelt Senior/Recreation Center.  This concert as part of the Rotary cook-out will pay a musical tribute to “The Greatest Generation” and will feature military music and other music form that era.
 
Friday, August 9 at 7:30 PM at the Strongsville Middle School Lawn. The summer concert series will conclude with a special tribute to our Armed Forces.  Special guest director will be Captain Ryan Nowlin of the United States Marine Band, “The Presidents Own” from Washington D.C.(In case of rain the concert will held at the Ehrnfelt Senior/Recreation Center).
