Homecoming 2020 Won't Take Place

The annual Homecoming festival has been cancelled by the Strongsville Chamber of Commerce, which organizes the event.
The Chamber released a statement June 9:
"The Strongsville Chamber of Commerce has made the decision to cancel the 2020 Strongsville Homecoming Festival due to the guidelines set forth by Governor Mike DeWine and the State Department of Health.  The health and safety of our volunteers, patrons, sponsors, and all members of our community are first and foremost in our thoughts and planning.  We regret that this decision has been necessary but believe it is the best choice for all involved.  As an organization, we will continue to work toward planning future festivals and provide the safest and healthiest environment for all attendees and their families.  We are mindful of the great history of our Homecoming and are committed to continuing that tradition. As we move forward, we hope all people involved in this annual event will continue to help support it in the future and join together in celebration on the city commons for years to come.  We thank everyone for their patience and understanding."
The Homecoming Parade, which typically kicks off the festival, will also not take place.
