Republic Waste will resume normal pick up of yard waste and bulk items starting Monday, May 4. Residents can dispose of yard waste (
following the normal rules), cardboard and large items at that time. Grass clippings can be set out in brown yard-waste bags or in plastic bags that don't exceed 50 pounds.
However, Republic is asking residents to
continue placing their regular trash in tied plastic bags rather than leaving it loose in bins. The plastic bags may be set at the curb, or placed into bins at the curb.
Republic had halted collection of large items and unbagged trash due to concerns over the spread of the coronavirus.
If you'd rather, the city's transfer station will be open regular hours if you have large items to dispose of:
Monday through Friday – 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Saturday – 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Sunday – 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
