The Police Department has installed a secure drop-off box for expired or unneeded medication. It's located in the lobby of the police station, 18688 Royalton Rd.
Only pills are accepted -- no liquids or syringes.
The box allows residents to dispose of old medication safely. Otherwise, the drugs can fall into the wrong hands or -- if they're thrown in the trash or flushed -- pollute landfills and waterways.
