​Strongsville Fire and Emergency Services offers CPR and first aid training to the public. Eight certified instructors provide American Heart Association training to residents, groups and businesses. Each class is about four hours and takes place at Fire Station 4, 17000 Prospect Rd.

Heart Saver CPR - AED
This class, intended for the average citizen, covers what to do if you find someone unresponsive and not breathing. It teaches CPR techniques and also how to use an automated external defibrillator. It's free of charge for Strongsville residents and non-profit organizations, but a certification card (optional) is $20. For non-residents and those who are taking the class for employment, the cost is $50.
Heart Saver First Aid
Also aimed at the average citizen, this class teaches how to deal with medical emergencies, including illness, injuries, choking, heat- and cold-related situations, bites and stings. It's free for Strongsville residents and non-profit organizations. An optional certification card is $20. For non-residents and those who are taking the class for employment, cost is $50.
Healthcare Provider CPR
This course is for nurses, doctors, nursing home employees and other healthcare workers. It covers all aspects of CPR. Cost is $50 per person.
