Fire Academy for Kids is Offered Again

Fire Academy for Kids is a one day FREE participatory program for fourth and fifth grade children living in the City of Strongsville.
The academy will begin at 9 a.m. at the Strongsville Fire Station #4, 17000 Prospect Road, where kids will be given a T-shirt and sworn in by Mayor Tom Perciak. The day will end at 3 p.m.
The program is designed to satisfy your child’s interest in firefighters and their jobs by allowing them to participate in hands-on activities. A pizza lunch will be provided. Participants will be chosen on a first-come, first-served basis by having parents email their child’s name and shirt size to fire@strongsville.org.
The academy is limited to 30 children, 15 for session one on June 10, 2021 and 15 for session two on June 11, 2021.
We ask that only new “recruits” apply. Parents will be responsible for drop-off and pick-up. Be sure to sign your child up soon as spaced will be filled quickly.
Covid-19 protocols will be in place and will include wearing masks, multiple sanitizing stations and social distancing when possible.
SFEMS will monitor the State Governor’s mandates and guidelines. Program cancellation may be necessary.
