Strongsville firefighters again welcomed service dogs in training to Station 4 to help the pups get used to the sights and sounds of an emergency scene.
The puppies, who visited with their trainers on June 21, 2021, are being groomed to act as helper dogs for people with disabilities by Canine Companions for Independence Northern Ohio Chapter.
The group has been visiting the Strongsville station with new groups of dogs for the last several years.
At the station, the dogs meet firefighters in full turnout gear, check out the trucks and even spend time in a room filled with simulated smoke.
