Fire Academy for Kids Offered Again

NOTE: Program is closed for 2023
Fire Academy for Kids is a one day FREE participatory program for current fourth- and fifth-grade children living in the City of Strongsville. The sessions in 2023 are set for June 7 and 8.
Registration begins April 1, 2023. Please do not e-mail before that date. If you do, your registration will not be included.
The academy will begin at 9 a.m. at the Strongsville Fire Station #4, 17000 Prospect Road, where kids will be given a T-shirt and sworn in by Mayor Tom Perciak. The day will end at 3 p.m.
The program is designed to satisfy your child’s interest in firefighters and their jobs by allowing them to participate in hands-on activities. A pizza lunch will be provided. Participants will be chosen on a first-come, first-served basis by having parents e-mail their child’s name and shirt size, as well as a working phone number,  to kids.academy@strongsville.org.
The academy is limited to 36 children, 18 for session one on June 7, 2023 and 18 for session two on June 8, 2023.
We ask that only new “recruits” apply. Registration opens April 1, 2023. Parents will be responsible for drop-off and pick-up. Be sure to sign your child up soon as spaces will be filled quickly.
