On Aug. 27, 2019, some Strongsville residents reported receiving e-mails that claim to be from “Strongsville Council,” warning of an increase in “robberies” in your neighborhood.
The e-mails are NOT coming from Strongsville City Council or anyone affiliated with the city of Strongsville. Police Chief Mark Fender says there has NOT been an uptick in neighborhood burglaries.
The message claims that residents are at risk and urges them to click links to check out home security systems, promising the first 10 people to do so will get one free.
This is an apparent scam and is being investigated. If you receive such an e-mail, please delete it without clicking any of the links.
