The city is pleased to annouce the creation of the Strongsville Community Garden, which will soon take shape at the corner of Pearl and Drake roads.
The announcement culminates a four-year effort and a partnership between the city and Southwest General, which is providing the land for the garden.
Residents will be able to rent 4-by-8-foot plots for $25 per summer. Plots are expected to be available starting May 19 on a first come, first served basis. Registration forms will be available online and at the Ehrnfelt Recreation Center.
A groundbreaking ceremony is planned for May 24 and -- after volunteer efforts from local Boy Scout troops to build the raised beds -- gardeners should be able to plant starting June 6.
