City Creating Pollinator Habitats

Signs are going up around town marking Pollinator Habitats – places the city is creating where bees and butterflies can thrive.
The areas will be around the perimeters of the parks, adjacent to woods, where they won’t impact players on the baseball or football fields.
Pollinators are crucial to the world’s food supply and natural ecosystems.
A riparian corridor will also be established along the stream that runs through the Drake Road Rec Park.   Plantings near the waterway will prevent erosion and stabilize the banks.
