Police Collect 100 Pounds of Pills at Drug Take Back

Strongsville Police again participated in National Drug Take Back Day April 27, 2019, collecting 100 pounds of pills and three boxes of syrniges, eip pens and lancet in a four-hour period.

NOTE: On Take Back Day, Strongsville now accepts all types of medication, including needles, syringes, liquids and gel caps. Sgt. Mike Grywalsky said he has made the event, which takes place twice a year,  a "full service" dropoff.

There is a medication drop box in the lobby of the police station year-round, but it can accept only dry medication (pills and capsules).

The DEA sponsors Take Back Days to help keep drugs from falling into the wrong hands, and also to prevent people from throwing them in the trash or flushing them, which pollutes landfills and waterways.
