Voters in Strongsville will see Issue 42, a renewal levy, on the Nov. 5 general election ballot.
The issue, if approved, would continue to generate $575,000 a year for five years. The money is used for current expenses like trash collection, street maintenance and snow removal.
Because it is a renewal, it would not raise taxes. It would continue to cost homeowners about $8 a year for every $100,000 of home value.
The levy was first approved in 1974, and has been re-approved by voters every five years since.
Also on the ballot is Issue 41, a five-year renewal levy for Southwest General Health Center. That issue generates $384,000 a year for the city’s support of the hospital and would continue to cost homeowners $5 per year for $100,000 of home valuation.
