'Empower You' Don't Be a Victim Self-Defense Workshop

The "Empower You" Don't Be a Victim Self-Defense Workshop will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 14 at the Ehrnfelt Rec Center, 18100 Royalton Road.
The free community event is open to all area women and their teenage daughters.
The workshop is sponsored by the Strongsville Rotary and conducted by local self-defense and martial arts expert Jeff Ellis, grandmaster instructor at International Karate Centers of Strongsville. 
It will focus on providing women valuable information regarding safety awareness, evading assault and self-defense skills. The use of basic hand strikes, blocking actions, simple kicks and easy ways to escape from grabs or holds will be explored. Participants will learn in a safe, controlled environment, have fun and leave confidently empowered to stay safe.
