The Strongsville Kiwanis Club sponsors this annual event for all ages. Each child attending can choose a new book to take home. No registration is needed for this free event. Members of Kiwanis will be available to read books to the children. The St. Joseph and John’s Builder's Club members will perform puppet shows throughout the event. There will also be face painting, storytelling, and light refreshments.

Her books are published in 32 languages, with millions of copies sold worldwide. Books will be available for purchase courtesy of Mac's Backs - Books on Coventry.

Shop more than 40 tables of toys, clothes, small furniture and accessories at the Kids Garage Sale at the Rec Center March 15, 2025. Earlybird shopping starts at 9 a.m. for $3 admission, or shop free from 10 a.m. to noon.
Irish Dance Demo at the Rec Center

Join Cannon Irish Dance for an early St. Patrick's Day celebration at the Rec Center lobby Saturday, March 15, 2025. The group will perform traditional Irish step dance from 3 to 4 p.m. Free and open to everyone.
Shred Day 2025

The annual Shred Day will take place June 6, 2025 from 9 a.m. to noon outside Strongsville Middle School. Strongsville residents can have their documents shredded free of charge at that time. NEW THIS YEAR: There will be a limit of five boxes per vehicle. This is the largest shred event in northeast Ohio -- the city collects an average of 15 tons of paper in three hours. Wait times can be an hour. Acceptable items: (Small paper clips and staples can still be attached) accounting ledger paper, adding machine tape, advertisements, booklets/brochures, copy machine paper, colored paper - 20 pound, computer paper, envelopes, faxes, manila file folders, greeting cards, laser printer paper, legal pad paper, Post-it notes, NCR paper, receipts and all types of white paper. NOT ACCEPTED: Newspapers, phone books, magazines, binders, books, pendaflex folders, food and candy wrappers, waxed paper, photographs, napkins and Styrofoam containers. This is a city-sponsored event, and while the City of Strongsville is pleased to offer this confidential shred service, it is important to note that the city is not responsible for any confidential materials that are shredded during the event. The City of Strongsville assumes no liability for any documents lost, misplaced, or compromised during the shredding process.
