Strongsville Remembers 9/11

Strongsville Fire and Emergency Services and the Strongsville Police Department led a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony outside Fire Station 4 to mark the anniversary of the terrorist attacks that resulted in the death of 2,974 people, including 343 firefighters and 73 police officers.

The ceremony included “tolling of the bell,” a signal that honors firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice. The ceremony was broadcast to all four Strongsville fire stations, allowing all to participate. It started started at 9:45 a.m. on Sept. 11 to coincide with the fall of the Twin Towers in New York City.

Other city officials and members of the public participated in the ceremony.
