Summer Road Work has Started

Work is under way to resurface Prospect Road between Boston and Royalton roads. The project, which will start at Boston and move north, will last about 55 days. Two-way traffic will be maintained, with flaggers. 

Starting May 16, the same contractor, Karvo Companies, is resurfacing Howe Road from Royalton to Drake. For that project, Howe Road will be closed in both directions bewteen SouthPark Mall/Lenox Drive and Drake. Local traffic will be allowed through, as will school buses, emergency vehicles, garbage trucks and mail delivery vehicles. There will be delays. Detour is Pearl, Royalton and Drake (map below).

A different contractor will also resurface Whitney Road between Webster and W. 130th. 

In addition to those three major projects, 28 residential streets will also be resurfaced. The first of those will be Blazey Trail, Janette Avenue and Ruth Drive, which will see asphalt repairs. Work began on those three streets May 2.

Other streets slated for improvement this summer:
Ward 1 -- Valley Creek, Trails Edge, Sun Crest, Falling Water and Handle (in addition to Blazey, Ruth and Janette)
Ward 2 -- Walking Stick, Compass Point, Pioneers Creek, Drake (Misty Lake to Howe), Doe and Deerfield.
Ward 3 -- Heather, Creek Stone, Clear Brook, Meadowgrass, Watercress, Idlewood, Stafford, Broxton, Worthington Park, Osage.
Ward 4 -- Pineview, Concord, Carlton and Ashford.
