Strongsville VFW Post 3345 will host its 7th annual Community Day from 1-5 p.m. Sept. 7 at the post building, 17900 Strongsville Blvd.
The event includes entertainment by Tim Whalen and the Sundowners, free food and soft drinks, giveaways, and games and activities for kids. There will also be police and fire vehicles and representatives from various veterans' organizations. If you have an old flag, you can bring it to be properly retired.
Shuttles will be available from 1-4 p.m. from designated areas in the Home Depot -Walmart parking lot.
The VFW hosts the free event to give back to and interact with members of the public.
