Fire Station No. 3 Re-Dedicated after Renovations

The Fire Department welcomed residents for tours on April 30 during a re-dedication ceremony celebrating the renovation of the city's first satellite fire station.
The Ward 3 station at Albion and Priem roads underwent a major overhaul last year, with the sleeping quarters, locker rooms and workout area refurbished. A new roof and windows were installed, and electrical fixtures were replaced with LED lighting. The heating and ventilation system was replaced, concrete work was done and the inside was painted.
Fire Chief Jack Draves said the station was built in 1980, located strategically across the railroad tracks from the orignial station in the middle of town. It was originally calles Station 2, but was renamed when the Ward 2 station at Howe and Drake opened in 1996.
Strongsville now has four fire stations, one in each ward.
