On Nov. 5, 2023, the Strongsville Fire Department presented Sue Hamm and Maggie Cunningham the 2022 Community Service Awards.
Their heroic efforts on Sept. 24, 2022 saved the life of Sue’s husband Paul at First Baptist Church on Drake Road. Their fast action, early 911 notification and critical defibrillation intervention made the difference between life and death.
Following this incident, First Baptist Church contacted the fire department and coordinated CPR training to empower more of their parishioners.
